iPhone 4 Unlocked No Contract
The iPhone 4G has an all-glass finish that was reputedly inspired by the old classic Leica camera. The stainless steel surround is not just about styling, it also works as an antenna. First up is something Apple dubs ‘Retina Display’, a screen with double the pixels, 326 ppi that gives you a high resolution display for the new front facing camera of 5 megapixels with a 5X digital zoom and LED flash. The ‘backside illuminated sensor’ of the camera can record high definition video at 720p/30fps. Except for the size of the handset, everything it seems is bigger and better, from the A4 processor to the larger battery (read longer life) and the 802.11n WiFi. What you get with the iPhone 4 is 10 hours of WiFi browsing, also 10 hours of video, 40 hours of music, 6 hours of 3G browsing and 7 hours of 3G talk-time.
The new HD video on the iPhone 4G can be used with a new application called the iMovie app. But the most touted feature of the iPhone 4 is video chat, which Apples calls FaceTime. Enabled by the new front facing camera and WiFi connectivity, the FaceTime feature is limited to iPhone 4 users only.
Apple has delivered on its promises of homescreen wallpapers, folder organization of homescreen icons and some revamped applications for an improved user experience. Multitasking and switching between applications is now faster than it was before. Some icons have been improved upon and you can choose keyboard layouts from QWERTY to QWERTZ and AZERTY. With the iPod feature you can create, edit and delete playlists at will. The spell check and the iBooks, e-book and PDF reader are all new and all good additions. Messaging allows you to search and also provides a character count. Spotlight has been expanded to include Google and Wikipedia search. The iPhone 4G also provides a unified email inbox and you can use email archiving when setting up Gmail on your phone.
The call quality on the iPhone 4 is superb as compared to most smart phones that, from time to time, garble speech. The other feature that sets it apart from other smart phones is the use of toughened glass, supposedly as strong as sapphire crystal and at least 30 times the hardness of plastic. Whatever the case, the sophistication the glass lends to the look is simply not comparable with plastic, no matter its quality.
Graphic rendering on the iPhone 4 is faster and the phone is more responsive, that in part is because of the larger lithium-ion battery powering it. The addition of a second microphone combats background buzz while you are on a call. Other features include a gyroscope and light and proximity sensors, an AGPS chip and a compass. The steel band that is the antennae for WiFi, GPS and UMTS results in fewer dropped calls.
